Playstyle
Hyperius is a heavy caster with a short attack range whose kit features defensive capabilities and mobility that set him apart from similar heroes. A unique bond with gravity grants Hyperius extreme control over his opponents' positioning thanks to his ultimate Gravity Shards and sub-ability Gravity Well, which give Hyperius a unique resource to manage. Hyperius may choose to expend Shards to empower his spells or to cast Gravity Well. Hyperius's prowess as a magus is well known, but rather than direct damage his abilities center around prolonging fights thanks to his multiple sources of damage-over-time, his self-healing nuke Entropy Burst and supportive third skill, Null Shield, which grants spell block. Last but not least, Hyperius's main teamfight contribution is undoubtedly his variable-radius AoE nuke/root, Solar Storm. What Solar Storm lacks in burst damage it makes up for in its versatility, able to fire off a small, fast projectile to chase enemies while also being able to cover an entire teamfight with a gigantic storm if Hyperius channels the spell. By comboing his four area abilities in different ways, Hyperius is uniquely suited to shredding enemy teams with AoE spell damage while using his mobility and defenses to maintain control of the fight.
Background Info Lore
Originally from a dimension where consciousness is not born but rather discovered, Hyperius stands out among the heroes who defend ancients as a being of extreme intellect and yet breathtaking destruction. While he began life as a bodyless impulse dreamt up by the Solar Goddess, Hyperius soon realized that to serve his mistress would require a suitable physical manifestation—something designed for combat against other beings like himself—and so sought out the gadgeteer Hephaestus in his Celestial Forge.
Deep into the volcanic workshop Hyperius delved seeking an artifice to his liking, past automaton after augmented suit of armor, deeper and deeper into the solar mine's hellish lower branches until reaching the end of his presented options. Coming to the edge of the liquid-metal mantle, glowing burning white and hot, Hyperius kept going, allowing himself to be drawn in to the ultra-dense solar core. Hyperius's soul fused with the living energy of the star and, in the ensuing reaction, a new and perfect body formed—cast out of a molten metal so pure that it rivaled the greatest creations of the first age of light.
Yet unlike the piety of light's other servants such as Valora, Hyperius's journey brought him uncomfortably close to the forces of darkness, at times requiring him to wield his incredible power against the light to maintain the balance of all things. His bond with dark matter is inexorably balanced by the life-giving light, which forced Hyperius to not intervene when the Celestial Forge was later overtaken and destroyed by darkness.
Venturing in service of the Solar Goddess to the cities of men on many an occasion, Hyperius's encounters with various magi were spectacularly destructive. His solar-forged body may appear mortal, but in our reality Hyperius wields the same power as he did before as a bodyless force whose job was to hold the universe together, drawing the attention of several legendary magi over the years as they tried, unsuccessfully, to tame his unmatched potential. On one such occasion, on a visit to train under the grand magus Linken, an accidental discharge of dark matter leveled the entire city of Korum, erasing the knowledge of untold Korumite scholars and leading to Hyperius' exile by the Hidden Council—until their present time of need.
Now tasked with maintaining the balance between radiant and dire, Hyperius voyages with begrudging loyalty to trifle with mortal matters—and magi—once more. With infinite worlds hanging in the balance, Hyperius serves the very notion of existence as a bastion against chaos and an arbiter of divine judgment.

His Gravity Shards rotate clockwise and glow brightly while generating shards, and instead rotate counter-clockwise and absorb light while consuming shards.

Hyperius's favorite hex for dueling, mostly for its unpredictable nature, harnesses the regenerative energy of entropy.
Notes:
  • The bolt bounces to the nearest target first and has no maximum bounce range, but may only bounce to enemies who were in the cone-shaped target area and received the Bolt Target buff on cast (visible to all players above the targeted enemy's heads like Ember's Sleight of Fist effect, may only hit each enemy once). Enemies who travel more than 1,000 units after the Bolt Target buff is placed on them are removed from the bolt's target list.
  • The secondary blast happens at the end of the bolt's duration or upon running out of targets to bounce to. Any enemies the bolt was unable to bounce to before bursting do not take the bounce damage or give healing to Hyperius.
  • The bolt always heals the listed amount of damage regardless of how much damage is dealt, but may not bounce to invisible or spell immune enemies. Invisible enemies may be hit by the blast.
  • If there are no visible targets in the cone on cast, the bolt travels straight for a distance equal to the cast range and then bursts.
  • After skilling Gravity Shards, Entropy Burst pulls or pushes enemies for 40/60/80 when when they are hit by its blast.

  • The spell amplification, spell radius and cooldown reduction gained while consuming shards only effects Hyperius's spells, not his items.

  • Slightly simplified Entropy Burst mechanics and rewrote description
  • Entropy Burst bolt duration increased from 0.4/0.5/0.6/0.7s to 1s
  • Aghanim's Scepter reworked: Gravity Wells deal damage over time (80/100/120) and pull/push enemies twice as often
  • Aghanim's Shard reworked: the spell amp and spell radius buff from consuming gravity shards lasts for 4s instead of one spell (does not stack, the CDR from consumption remains for the spell cast to consume the shard)
Welp, I'm back again with a new updated version of this hero. I've posted him here several times now but admittedly I really want to make this concept easier to understand, so I'm trying to make some big changes and focus less on numbers currently. Sorry to make another post so soon after the other one but the Discord crew have seen this hero a hundred times and I want to get some other opinions!
The main things I am currently trying to fix/looking for feedback on:
  • The most common comment on the hero is that people don't see what gravity has to do with his Q/W/E, so this update directly ties the ult effect in to those three ability (and his auto-attacks) by giving them a push or a pull based on which mode your ult is in. Hopefully this is enough to fix the disconnect, but if not I will probably explore changing the Q or W more significantly.
  • People tend to be confused by the specific mechanics of the Q and W, so in this update I stripped some of Q's mechanics out of its description and I mechanically streamlined W, removing channeling as the baseline of the skill, which also allowed me to remove channeling speed as a mechanic from the ultimate. I think the new W makes the skill easier to understand and different from skills like Invoker Cyclone, with the new mechanic being "don't be in the storm when it ends/try to keep the enemy inside the storm"
  • There were too many effects on the ultimate and sub-ability, Gravity Well, so for starters I've removed all the passive effects of Gravity Shards besides this new push/pull mechanic (although the old effects are available as level 15 talents). I'm still concerned that Gravity Well has one too many effects, but I think gameplay-wise it's fine, just it's a little confusing to read. I could potentially remove the miss chance from Gravity Well but I do worry that it makes the hero too weak without a way to lay down that miss chance (which used to be his passive evasion).
Overall, when giving feedback please consider the average redditodota player and whether or not you think they could understand/play this hero. Complexity-wise I'm fine if this hero is a three-star hero but I do want to make sure to do as much as I can to simplify things! I'd like to post this on /dota2 eventually and make a fancy posteimage for that.

I’m from up north and there is zero chance my 4wd is going out in the next two days. This mix of sleet and rain and snow will freeze and create the worst driving conditions possible, it’s absolutely not worth trying to get anywhere. This is the time you call in to work, you eat what you have and you enjoy staying indoors.
Anyone driving is taking on an obscene amount of risk from loss of control or other drivers who have zero understanding of how to drive in snow or how to handle ice. The level of ice we will most likely see with these temps is dangerous even with chains.
Please be careful y’all, this is as nasty as winter mixes get for driving, so just don’t.

Why is the mullet making a comeback? I don't know about other places, but the area I live in pretty much all boys age 10ish-17ish have started getting mullets. It's so stupid looking to begin with, but a lot of the kids getting them have super curly hair which just makes it look so much worse.
